MANDARIN ORIENTAL STAGES OKTOBERFEST 2006

As part of the activities of the ongoing German Month, Mandarin
Oriental sets the stage once more for the most authentic Oktoberfest
celebration in the Philippines. The Hotel's annual event promotes
cultural understanding and strengthens cultural ties between the
Philippines and other countries.

Oktoberfest 2006 which is slated on October 6 and 7, from 7 pm to 1 am
at the Le Pavillon at the Metropolitan Park in Roxas Boulevard, is
held in cooperation with the German Club of Manila, together with
Siemens, Lufthansa German Airlines, Lufthansa Technik Philippines, The
Lifestyle Network, The Philippine Star, San Miguel Corporation, and
What's On & Expat.

"We are most delighted to present yet another Oktoberfest event for
six straight years now, which captures Germany's traditional and
biggest merrymaking event. Every year we try to make our Oktoberfest
celebration extra special and different, as our way of bridging
various cultures together for an appreciation and understanding of
German customs", says Helmut Gaisberger, Mandarin Oriental's general
manager.

Capturing the essence of the world's biggest outdoor festival,
Oktoberfest 2006 promises two fun-filled nights of free-flowing beer,
an all-night lavish buffet of German specialities, entertainment from
an 11-piece Bavarian band flown in from Munich, exciting raffle prizes
and games, non-stop dancing, and other surprises. Overnight
accommodations at Mandarin Oriental, Manila, a trip to Munich, Germany
courtesy of Lufthansa German Airlines, and other fabulous prizes are
at stake for the lucky winners.

The Bavarian Sound Express led by Robert Birnbrier which is flown in
direct from Munich, Germany, will render lively "oompapa" music – a
collection of polkas, marches, country-western and modern songs.

The hotel's food and beverage team headed by Executive Assistant
Manager - Food and Beverage David Thomas and Executive Chef Thomas
Wenger lay out an extensive gustatory feast of sumptuous German fare,
among which are: Spannferkel (suckling pig in dark beer sauce);
Sauerbraten (braised beef in sweet and sour sauce), Leberkaas (meat
loaf on creamed spinach); Spit haendl (herb-marinated roast chicken),
roast pork knuckle with sauerkraut, and a variety of grilled and
boiled sausages, salads and desserts. Special Oktoberfest souvenir
items will also be on sale at the event.

Oktoberfest tickets are priced at: P1,790 nett, inclusive of a
complimentary mug and unlimited food and beer; a discounted price of
P1,590 nett applies for a minimum purchase of 24 tickets; P1,630 nett
for Privilege Card members; and P1,490 nett and P1,440 nett for
October 6 and 7 respectively for German Club members.
